ROAD SAFETY AWARENESS
Training on road safety is important for people of all ages. You should be informed of of and every road safety law as a responsible citizen. In ensuring road safety, observation is the main skill you need. Security training starts right at your school. You will save yourself and others on the road by obeying safety rules and regulations.
Here follows 10 important points on the road safety and certain suggestions for improvement:
1. Awareness of Traffic Signs
There are different types of traffic signs you should know about. Some of them are discussed below:
Hand signals- Hand gestures help you escape too many misunderstandings as well as incidents. Some of the basic hand signals are: the right hand swings up and down with the palm facing down to slow the vehicle down, lifts the forearm vertically outside to avoid the vehicle, and swings the right arm in a semicircular motion forward and backward to allow the vehicle behind you to overtake.
Direction indicators- Direction indicators are very useful for you, particularly while driving at night. One of the greatest benefits of direction signs is that it is easier to identify. Each significant junction has traffic lights that signify different meanings that allow safe walking and travel.
Traffic signs and symbol-To avoid hazards, you should be able to recognize some of the critical traffic signs for u-turn, one way, hospitals, schools, forbidden zones, no horn area, etc.
Lanes on the road-At all times, it is safer for you to stay on the left side of the lane. By means of hand signals and direction signs, signal others while you are changing lanes. You may also prevent changes to normal lanes.
2. Speeding limit-
You would be able to monitor traffic and thus ensure road safety for students by setting permissible speed limits. Police officials are now using electronic devices to track vehicles' speed. And they can enforce fines on persons who exceed the speed limit. In addition, in heavy traffic areas and highways, you can install speed witness radars that operate on the concept of the Doppler effect that gives any moving vehicle the exact speed.
3. Always Wear your Shields-
To ensure road safety for students, seat belts should be made mandatory. Using two wheelers, you will convince students to use helmets to prevent unnecessary head injuries.
4. Maintenance of Your Vehicle-
It is important for you to check the condition of vehicles before taking the vehicle on the road. The petrol / diesel limit, bald tyres, glass wipers etc. should be carefully checked out.
5. Implement the Driver Violation Point System-
This framework is designed to classify high-risk drivers and take action against them. For various traffic violations such as reckless driving, speeding, use of mobile phones while driving, insufficient braking, not using seat belts, etc., certain points are issued and are also reported in the driving record. You may suspend or revoke licences for drivers who breach traffic laws on the basis of these records.
6. Awareness through Hoardings-
You can use hoardings to highlight traffic laws, as they quickly draw people's attention. When people see it on a regular basis, even those who don't have much road safety education will come to know about it. These communications are reliable and help to discourage reckless accidents.
7. Benefit of Drivers-
Vehicle insurance is more relevant and driving on the road should be made compulsory. This allows you to sue for accident recovery and, in times of injury or fire, give you another car. A daily eye check up free of charge will be offered to public transport drivers. They can attempt to drive cautiously when you have incentives.
8. Design of the Vehicle-
The vehicle's safety design helps to avoid accidents and is expected at the time of vehicle selection. Some vehicles are built in a way that allows you to absorb the effect of the accident. It allows you to guarantee student road safety.
9. Proper road Maintenance and Warnings-
During the rainy season, it is hard for you to drive on Indian highways. Roads should also be built with a lifetime of at least 5 to 6 years in mind. This will help reduce the amount spent on road maintenance. Alert signs should be displayed in large letters in cars so that everyone can see it correctly and drive accordingly
10. Time management-
Improper time management can lead you to speed driving, resulting in serious injury to yourself and those on the road, in turn. It is also best to reach your destination earlier than the scheduled time in order to escape the hazards. Guidelines are developed to ensure people's uniformity and you can also strictly observe safety rules and regulations to lead a safer and happier life. Proper advice and assistance will assist you in ensuring road safety for students.
