MENTAL HEALTH AWARENESS
IMPORTANCE OF MENTAL HEALTH AWARENESS
Both the mental and physical health is equally important
While you
can’t see it through your naked eyes sometimes, a mental health issue can cause
considerable harm to the life and well-being of a person. We need to raise
awareness of these issues in order for us to focus on preventing mental health
problems. Schools are certainly one of the fields where knowledge of mental
well-being needs to be at a high level. In school, the value of mental health
awareness is enormous, let’s break it down and take a closer look at why we
need schools on board to spread mental health awareness.
The policy of promoting mental health sensitivity and talking about your issues needs to be embraced by schools. Our students need someone to guide them in the right direction and helping them being a therapeutic and healing journey.
There is s a chance to avoid it from being fully-blown if mental disorder is in its early stages .Everyone involved in a typical school day of a person experiencing mental health problems needs to be on board and help them deal with it.They would find a way to remove these stress factors and build a warmer and relaxing environment at school if everybody in school understood how stressed out the students is. This would help children to find their peace and remove the feeling of strain, anxiety, and tension
1. Closing the gap-
Schools
are intended to help our younger generations prepare for the world that awaits
them and all the challenges that they will face.
Many schools’s teaches:
b)Nutrition
c)Sex education
a)Recognize the dilemma they have
b)Open up about it
c)Look for support
d)Support other peers with similar or other problem of mental health
It is important to close this gap and children must
have a chance to deal with mental health issues just as they can deal with any
other issues.
2. Suicide & Mental Illnesses
Suicide is one of the leading causes of death
worldwide between the ages of 10-25. Furthermore, several persons who have
committed suicide have suffered from a mental illness .we need to raise
awareness about mental health in your school to lower the rising suicide rate
and discourage your people from taking their own lives away.
a)They will hear about counselling and how their
problem can be solved
b)They would be more likely to talk about it.
c)Then they’ll acknowledge that they have a
problem
Hopefully, the above will lower the suicide rate and provide younger people with solution rather than ending their lives.
3. Early Intervention
In mental health, early interventions are critical, just as with any other illness or health issue. It is important for teachers, school counselors school psychologists, and peers to think about:
a)Detecting early sign of concern with mental health
b)Spotting meaningful behavioral shifts
c)Acting at the slightest indication of a possible
issue with mental
4. Social Media Influence
Although we love to
get updated, find entertainment, and communicate with our friends using social
media, there is a dark side to it that not many people talk about. The reality
is that social media can leave implications and deep scares in the mind of
customers, especially the younger generations.
For young children, watching wealthy, popular, successful and
celebrity individuals on social media can cause mental health problems:
a)Low self-image
b)Issues with the body
c)Depression
d)Anxiety
With almost 3.5 billion active users worldwide, the impact it
has on the young people around our schools is mind-blowing, because social
media is on the rise.
With this kind of new danger, schools need to increase the
level of awareness of mental health and ensure that their students learn:
a)Self- love
b)System of values
c)To love everyone
d)Not judging individuals
e)Discussing the insecurities freely.
This would be helpful for students to learn correctly and
prevent them from becoming mentally ill
5. Eliminating the Cause
While learning about the negative consequences of
mental health disorders and how to handle them is important, learning about the
root causes is also important. It is important to learn about the cause of stress,
depression or anxiety, schools can be a big trigger for most students with
mental health problem.
Students are feeling stressed out because of:
b)Pressure from peers
c)Intimidation at school
d)Excessively strict teachers
e)Too much of workload
Final thought-
To raise
awareness of mental well-being in schools, it is extremely necessary for younger
people are deeply impacted every day by mental health problems. To direct them
through the process of coping with their inner problems, they need a structure
they can count on and a source of knowledge.
Schools need to initiate improvements to bring as
many individuals, pupils, teachers and other school personnel to focus on
raising awareness of mental health. Being today with yourself and initiates a
change in your school
